A school of business textbook called “Financial Accounting” has been designed and developed for MBA students from Bangladesh Open University (BOU). It is written in modular form and it is the first in financial accounting in Bangladesh. The lessons are designed so that students can easily understand them. The book has eight units with units of lessons. We do not claim that this is a major contribution. Rather it should be seen as a textbook of ideas from various recognized authorities in financial accounting. We have quoted from various textbooks in accounting that graduate students often follow in our universities. Our effort was to present the texts in a very clear way so that they could be understood and assimilated by the average distance student of the MBA program within the allotted time of one semester. We are grateful to the Honorable Vice-Chancellor of BOU, Prof. Dr. M.M. Farid Ahmed, who has given us the most support and encouragement to write this book. Dr. Kazi Md. Ghalib Ahsan, S.M.
