Amarkant (Born: July 1, 1925, Ballia, India –
Died: February 17, 2014, Prayagraj, India )was an Indian writer of Hindi literature. His novel Inhin Hathiyaron Se won him the Sahitya Akademi Award in 2007 and the Vyas Samman Award in 2009. In 2009 he received the Jnanpith award.
