Book Review:
Wood Woods of a Snowy Night is a poem by Robert Frost, written in 1922 and published in 1923 in his New Hampshire volume. Distinguished in the figure, personality, and repetitive work. In a letter to Louis Untermeyer, Frost called him “my best bid for remembrance.”
The text of the poem describes the thoughts of a lone wagon driver, who begins his journey to see the snow in the forest at night. It concludes by reminding himself that despite the beauty of the scene, “I have a promise to leave a few miles before I go to sleep.”
The poem is based on the Iambic Tetrameter of the Rubaiyat Pillar by Edward Fitzgerald, in the style of the twelfth-century Persian poet and mathematician Hakim Omar Khayyam.
